Medicine in Italy

Italy offers six-year English-taught medicine at public and private universities. Public selection, a university’s preliminary checks, Universitaly pre-enrolment and the visa are separate steps. Plan Italian for patient care from the beginning, and examine the clinical and internship structure before choosing a return-to-India route.

Before you decide

Look at both
sides of the route.

Why students consider Italy

  • Public university options
  • Architecture and design
  • Medicine through IMAT
  • Regional scholarships

What needs careful planning

  • University-specific requirements
  • Pre-enrolment timelines
  • Visa documentation
  • Scholarship deadlines

What the brochure rarely explains

Plan the whole
student journey.

Admission is one milestone. The right decision also accounts for money, documentation, learning style and life after graduation.

01

Public-university value

Italy can offer strong public education, but fees, admission rules and available English programmes differ significantly by university.

02

Scholarships

Regional and university awards have separate eligibility, income-document and deadline requirements. Admission does not automatically secure funding.

03

After admission

Accommodation, pre-enrolment, financial evidence and visa preparation should be planned together—not left until the offer arrives.

Your application route

From research
to visa file.

  1. 01

Check course-specific eligibility and whether the university uses its own application portal.

  2. 02

Prepare translations, legalisation and academic verification early where requested.

  3. 03

Complete university admission and Universitaly pre-enrolment in the correct order.

  4. 04

Build the visa and financial file around the consulate handling your residence country.

From eligibility
to arrival.

We can help review your profile, compare courses and institutions, prepare applications, organise documents and plan the visa and departure stages.

First answer: should you apply?

The useful question is not only “Can I get an offer?” It is whether the academic, financial and career logic remains strong after the excitement of admission.

Can I study in Italy entirely in English?+

Yes, many universities offer English-taught programmes, especially at master’s level. Bachelor’s choice is narrower and must be checked course by course.

Is an Italian scholarship guaranteed?+

No. Scholarships depend on the scheme, eligibility, documents, deadlines and available funding. We assess the route separately from admission.
