Check every stop, not just the destination
Transit and entry are different. Your nationality, residence, documents and the precise connection determine the requirements.
- Check whether you remain airside or need to enter the transit country.
- Baggage collection, an airport change or an overnight landside stop can change the documents you need.
- For a route through Germany to Italy, check Schengen entry requirements as well as transit rules.
- Use the airline and official government guidance for your exact itinerary before accepting a ticket.
One ticket or separate tickets?
A cheaper self-transfer can involve more risk. Ask whether the flights are issued together and what assistance applies if the first flight is delayed.
- Confirm whether baggage is checked to the final destination or must be collected and checked again.
- Allow for immigration, terminal changes and the next airline’s check-in deadline. There is no single safe connection time for every airport.
- With separate tickets, a missed onward flight can leave you paying for a replacement; check the individual carriers’ terms.
Read the fare before paying
Check the passenger name against the passport and the carrier’s naming rules. Then compare the entire fare, not only the ticket price.
- Cabin bag: pieces, size and weight. Checked bag: pieces or total weight, plus extra-bag costs.
- Check every operating airline, including partner flights. Student baggage offers need their own eligibility evidence.
- Confirm change fees, fare differences, cancellation terms, no-show penalties and any support fee.
- Save the e-ticket receipt and booking reference; a quote or payment acknowledgement alone is not an issued ticket.
Common questions
Do you guarantee the lowest price?
No. Fares and seats change. Compare the same baggage, flexibility and connection conditions, then review the written total before confirming.
Is a non-refundable fare never refundable?
Voluntary changes and cancellations follow the fare rules. Airline disruption and applicable passenger rights are separate questions. Ask for the reason, applicable rule and refund breakdown.
Do all students get extra baggage?
No. Offers vary by airline, route, fare and eligibility. Confirm the allowance in writing on the actual booking.
