TestAS — your starting guide

The exam at a glance

Digital TestAS combines a general core module with a selected subject module.

The core takes about 90 minutes including directions. A 30-minute break separates core and subject modules; do not apply these timings to the paper test.

Is this the test you need?

International applicants whose university or application route requests TestAS.

• Digital and paper-based TestAS differ; select the accepted version.
• Choose the subject module required by your target course.
• The test is offered in English and German, but a university can specify the language.

A sensible preparation route

1. Use preparation for the exact digital or paper version.
2. Learn the core task patterns, then try the required subject module.
3. Practise interpreting unfamiliar diagrams and technical information rather than memorising a supposed fixed question bank.
