2. Keep the receipt
This is a manual record, not proof of payment. Use short descriptions and nicknames. Keep receipts separately and agree corrections with your housemates.
3. Settle outside the tool
Suggested transfers reduce the number of payments needed to clear balances. A suggested recipient may differ from the person who originally paid. No money moves here.
How rounding and repayments work
Calculations use whole cents, paise or baisa. Equal splits give leftover minor units to participants in group order. Weighted splits allocate leftover units to the largest fractional shares, with group order breaking ties. Exact shares must total the bill.
Repayments are recorded at their place in the expense history. New bills can change who owes whom. To change or remove a bill covered by a later repayment, first remove the affected recorded repayments; removing a record does not reverse a real payment.
Where your information goes
Your entries stay in this page until you choose to save or download them. “Save on this device” stores one group in this browser, without encryption, and replaces the previous saved group. It is not an account backup and is not shared automatically. Other people using this browser may open it; avoid saving on a shared device.
Backups and CSV statements contain the nicknames and entries you add. Keep them private. Clearing browser data can remove your saved copy. Optional analytics and marketing tracking are disabled on this tool. Normal website delivery logs may still record the page request; your entries are not submitted to our servers.
