Start with the skills.

Build your foundations with 4 short lessons and 36 original questions. Begin with the 8-question starter or choose a focused topic below.

BUILD UNDERSTANDING

One lesson at a time.

Read an explanation, follow a worked example and check your understanding before choosing a practice set.

  1. Lesson 1 · About 4 minutes

    Translate compact notation

Use powers, probability and a reduced sample space.

    →
  2. Lesson 2 · About 4 minutes

    Compare the quantity requested

Distinguish a total from an average rate.

    →
  3. Lesson 3 · About 4 minutes

    Match mechanisms, quantities and units

Review cell function, energy flow, concentration and work.

    →
  4. Lesson 4 · About 5 minutes

    Build a repeatable problem-solving method

Separate givens, assumptions and the requested quantity before solving.

LEARN BY DOING

Start small. Focus. Then mix it up.

Each set has untimed practice or an optional practice timer, plus an explanation for every answer. Sets can overlap; they use this pathway’s 36 original questions.

8 questions · Optional 16 min

Quick start

Two mathematics, two reasoning, two biology, one chemistry and one physics item. Navigation and a single practice timer deliberately differ from the official separate-section rules. No normalised score is calculated.

24 questions · Optional 48 min

Mixed practice

The original 24-question mixed set, including the eight-question starter. A broader mix of skills, without the full syllabus or official exam format.

Problem-solving recap

Twelve original questions from Skill builders 1 and 2. Revisit the problem-solving method; these are repeated questions, not a fresh full exam.

KEEP THE BIGGER PICTURE

Where this fits.

Applicants to university programmes whose admission calls explicitly accept or require CEnT-S. Acceptance, test mode and deadlines are programme-specific.

CEnT-S contains 55 questions in 110 minutes: Mathematics 15/30 minutes, Reasoning on texts and data 15/30, Biology 10/20, Chemistry 10/20 and Physics 5/10. Sections have separate limits and cannot be revisited after leaving them. Raw marking is +1 correct, −0.25 wrong and 0 blank; CISIA subsequently normalises results.

  • Mathematics and reasoning: algebra, geometry, functions, probability/statistics, logic and interpretation of information.
  • Biology: molecules, cells, inheritance, plant/ecosystem and animal-system fundamentals.
  • Chemistry and physics: matter, reactions, quantities, mechanics, energy, fluids, thermal physics and electromagnetism.

Current CEnT-S rules for 1 November 2025–31 October 2026; later-cycle rules must be checked

CISIA provides CEnT-S simulations through its practice area. Use an official account and check the current access instructions.
