Use one profile, then separate each application
This checklist is for international applicants comparing Italy and Germany. It is an organisational framework: mark an item required only when the official university, scholarship provider or visa authority asks for it. Keep a shared personal profile, but make an independent checklist for every programme and intake.
- Citizenship or citizenships; current legal residence; relevant permit type and expiry.
- Qualification country, education system, awarding institution and exact award title.
- Subjects, grades, completed semesters, award date or expected completion date.
- Intended degree, programme, campus, teaching language and semester.
Qualification and language evidence
uni-assist's educational-certificate guidance distinguishes school and university records and directs applicants to country-specific requirements. Its translation guidance calls for the original-language certificates plus accepted German or English translations where needed. Use the receiving institution's rules for applications outside uni-assist.
- Obtain a legible complete academic record and the required grading information.
- Collect official course descriptions where programme fit needs evidence.
- Check whether provisional qualifications are permitted and when final evidence is due.
- Record test type, score, date, required subscores and proof deadline.
- Identify APS, dMAT, VPD or Italian qualification evidence only where the relevant route requires it.
Make deadlines usable
An undated or recurring month-and-day window is not the same as a confirmed 2027 call. uni-assist warns that application deadlines vary and some programmes or applicant groups have earlier dates.
- Record the full date, time, time zone, academic year, round and applicant category.
- Separate application, test, scholarship, acceptance, visa and enrolment deadlines.
- Store the official source and the date you last checked it.
- Add a realistic internal target and note what must finish before it.
- After submission, save a receipt and monitor the portal for follow-up requests.
Show how you will pay at each stage
Build a month-by-month plan for funds already available, confirmed support and costs due before arrival. Keep scholarship applications separate from awarded funding. Estimate your budget with room for the actual city and accommodation arrangement.
- List tuition and mandatory university charges separately.
- Include deposits, travel, insurance, document services and initial living expenses.
- Check when confirmed scholarship instalments can actually be paid.
- Record the official financial-evidence rules for your visa route without treating them as a complete living-cost forecast.
Review before you pay or submit
Open the current source one more time. Confirm that the name, degree, intake, category and documents agree across the form and your evidence. If an answer is unclear, record the exact question and resolve it with the responsible office rather than guessing. This checklist does not guarantee admission, aid or a visa, and it does not establish all 2027/28 requirements. Keep unresolved items visible until there is an authoritative answer.
