Read the offer as a new set of instructions

Admission and enrolment are separate. Read the offer immediately for conditions, any acceptance step, the enrolment deadline and the required submission method. Save these details alongside your application record.

  • Use the current offer and university checklist, not another applicant's timeline.
  • Ask the admissions office before the deadline if a requirement is unclear; an extension is not automatic.

Separate urgent documents from permitted later items

An institution may distinguish what must arrive now from what it permits later. Follow those labels precisely.

  • Dated example: Hamburg's international master's checklist for winter 2026/27 requires digital enrolment within seven days of the admission letter.
  • That checklist allows some documents later, but missing them can delay final semester documents. This is not a nationwide or confirmed 2027 rule.

Complete insurance and payment requirements

Arrange the health-insurance notification the university requests. Check the semester contribution separately from any tuition invoice, and use the current official payment instructions and personal reference.

  • Hamburg's new-student payment sequence differs from its continuing-student re-enrolment deadlines.
  • Check that your university has recorded the required documents, insurance status and payment before treating enrolment as complete.

Set up your first semester

Activate your university account and student email, download the enrolment confirmation when available, and check course-registration and orientation dates.

  • Keep your application account and student account details distinguishable.
  • Use the university's International Office or student services when the status remains incomplete.
