When can I take it?

GRE General appointments are rolling and depend on location/date availability. The published 2026–27 policy bulletin covers 1 July 2026–30 June 2027; it does not confirm a particular 2027 seat or all policies for the rest of 2027.

YOUR REGISTRATION PATH

From choosing the test to test day

Follow these steps with the official provider. Keep your application number, confirmation and receipt together.

  1. Check each programme’s required test and score deadline. GRE General and Subject Tests are different bookings.

  2. Create or use your ETS account with the name on your accepted ID. Check citizenship/location rules and resolve accommodations before scheduling.

  3. Choose GRE General, centre or eligible home delivery, and the location, appointment date and time; check the displayed timezone.

  4. For home testing, check equipment and room requirements before purchase. Complete IDVaaS verification at least 72 hours ahead, or immediately after booking if closer, and before test day.

  5. Review recipient choices, the listed test fee, service fees, applicable tax and change terms; pay through ETS and retain the appointment confirmation.

  6. Allow 8–10 days for official scores plus delivery and institutional processing. Online booking requires at least two calendar days before the preferred date, subject to availability.

  7. For a retake, wait at least 21 days and keep within five attempts in rolling 365 days, including attempts with cancelled scores.

A final check before paying

The right requirement

Confirm the exam version, delivery mode, required scores and score deadline for your programme. Admission and visa English requirements can differ.

The right identity

Match your booking to the provider’s accepted ID. Check document validity, spelling and any country-specific rules before confirming.

The complete amount

Review the checkout currency, taxes, optional extras and change or cancellation terms. A price for India is not an Oman price.

Published dates describe a calendar, not available seats. The provider’s confirmation establishes your booking. An unannounced 2027 date or fee should stay out of your confirmed plan.
