What makes an example stronger?
These are fictional examples written by Via Glowbal for learning. Use the approach, then write about your own experience. They are not accepted-application samples or text to submit as your own.
A project bullet
Worked on a data project and have excellent analytical skills.
Cleaned 180 survey responses in Python, compared travel times by transport type and presented three limitations of the sample to my project group.
Why it works: The action, method and scope are visible. Use a number only if you can substantiate it; an honest description of the work is enough.
A first experience
I am a born leader with no professional experience.
Organised a weekly study group for six classmates; prepared practice questions and changed the session format after collecting feedback.
Why it works: Class projects and volunteering can show useful skills. Describe your actual contribution without turning a small activity into an inflated job title.
A skills entry
Python — expert. Communication — outstanding.
Python: used pandas to clean and summarise a course survey. Presentations: explained our findings in a ten-minute group seminar.
Why it works: Give context for the skill. A short example tells a reader more than a self-awarded rating.
How we use the Harvard guidance
The Harvard Extension School Resumes and Cover Letters guide (2022), also reflected in its current career-service guidance, emphasises relevant facts, active wording, readable organisation and tailoring to the reader. We adapt those principles here; the examples and templates are our own.
Keep the qualification’s official title, put relevant evidence where it is easy to find and check the exported PDF. International CV conventions vary; follow your programme’s instructions for dates, length and layout.

Let the programme set the rules.
There is no single format or page limit for every university. Keep descriptions factual, use consistent dates and review the exported document for spelling, page breaks and missing information.
Order your evidence.
Europass recommends putting recent experience first and tailoring the details to the purpose. Use the move buttons to arrange your entries. This is a Via Glowbal template; it is not the official Europass format.

For example, Polimi’s foreign-qualification master’s route asks for an English or Italian CV of at most two pages. TUM asks for a chronological, tabular CV with month/year periods and explanations of longer gaps. These are institution-specific examples, not country-wide rules or confirmed requirements for every 2027 programme.
