General Medicine is a six-year integrated route to MUDr. Comenius University has a Faculty of Medicine in Bratislava and a separate Jessenius Faculty in Martin. UPJŠ is in Košice. Keep the faculty name on your application, invoice and comparison.
An English programme is not necessarily an English-only professional pathway. The clinical environment and regulator’s language expectations matter from the start.

The Bratislava University of Economics and Business publishes a basic living range of €260–718/month, with accommodation making much of the difference. This is a city planning reference from another university, not a guaranteed medical-student dormitory rate.
Avoid building a six-year budget around the lowest figure unless you actually secure that housing. Add deposits, flights, study equipment, translations, residence costs and insurance to the ordinary monthly plan.

Jessenius asks for identification, payment evidence, completed school education and a fitness-to-study statement; some documents can follow the initial application. Conditional admission still requires completion of the outstanding conditions.
For residence documents, coordinate police certificates and translations close enough to filing to remain valid. The updated Slovak ministry study checklist specifies an admission/purpose document and relevant criminal records no older than 90 days.

For applicants in India, use the Slovak Embassy in New Delhi’s study and residence categories. For Oman, Slovakia’s country page identifies its embassy in Cairo as accredited; confirm acceptance and appointment arrangements with that mission before planning an in-person trip.
An accredited embassy, a short-stay visa centre and a student residence submission point are different things. Do not assume the nearest Schengen visa centre accepts the long-term application you need.

The Slovak ministry’s residence page, updated in August 2026, lists the study-purpose documents, including passport, admission and applicable criminal-record extracts. Its accommodation-proof requirement in that study section is for secondary-school pupils; do not automatically add it as a universal university-student requirement.
The separate foreign-student guide explains arrival and residence-card formalities. Keep those steps in your calendar after visa approval: entry permission does not complete every obligation on arrival.

An English-taught degree provides the academic route; practising with Slovak patients requires suitable Slovak communication. The Slovak Medical Chamber’s foreign-national guidance describes language and registration conditions.
Ask the faculty how Slovak is taught before clinical work, how progress is assessed and what records you receive for each hospital rotation. Keep any external placement’s location and supervision explicit.

The professional route includes recognised qualifications, health and character conditions, language and registration. Rules for recognition of a foreign medical degree should not be applied indiscriminately to a foreign citizen holding a Slovak degree.
For an India-return route, ask for evidence of the required internship and local registration. Do not count a final clinical year twice or rely on a general statement that the degree is accepted in Europe.

No. Both are Comenius University faculties, but their English Medicine admissions have separate tests, fees and calendars. Register with the faculty where you intend to study.
