Entrance assessments differ by institution
KFU’s 2026/27 main-campus English General Medicine plan lists Fundamentals of Human Biology and English, minimum 40 in each, with onsite assessment. Kazan State Medical University’s English route lists Chemistry and English, minimum 65 in each.
These are minimum test thresholds, not guaranteed admission cutoffs. Kazan State Medical University requests Indian applicants’ NEET evidence separately. Sechenov’s English-cohort test options need written clarification where its page gives differing language requirements.

Qualification recognition and visa preparation
Keep final school qualifications and transcripts, passport, NEET where applicable and requested health/HIV records. Follow the chosen university’s authentication, notarised Russian translation and recognition process.
A student invitation and visa are separate from an entrance-test booking. An Indian passport holder legally resident in Oman should confirm the competent mission’s submission requirements; an Oman residence card does not waive Russian visa rules.

Migration, health and practical costs
Work with the university to maintain migration registration and extend the visa on time. Correct entry purpose and prompt reporting matter. Covered long-stay students must complete the applicable medical, fingerprint and photograph procedures.
Keep insurance and an accessible emergency budget. Flights, cards and transfers may be affected by restrictions; verify the actual payment route rather than assuming unrestricted banking.

Russian communication and clinical evidence
A fully English academic degree still involves Russian-speaking patients. Language preparation supports history taking, consent and clinical teamwork, beyond the university’s admissions language assessment.
Request international-cohort placement hours, supervised tasks and rotation logbooks. A hospital network is useful context, but does not establish each student’s clinical participation.

Ordinary placements are not automatically a qualifying internship
Russian programme information describes clinical and industrial practice across six years. Summer placements, a diploma or an “internship included” statement are not sufficient evidence of a full 12-month qualifying foreign internship.
The Indian Embassy in Moscow advises applicants to check NMC prerequisites with the university. Obtain the named training institution, rotation calendar, legal status and certificate before committing to an India-return plan.

Primary medical accreditation is conducted in Russian
The accreditation centre’s primary testing instruction cites clause 69 of Order 709n: primary and primary specialised accreditation are conducted in Russian. The centre explains that Russian medical education and professional accreditation form part of the right to practise.
Do not confuse the extra assessment for holders of foreign medical degrees with the ordinary route for an Indian student who earns a Russian degree. Nationality and country of qualification are different facts.
